QUESTIONS ENDOCRINE AND NERVOUS SYSTEM

Hola a todos! Lo prometido es deuda, aquí os dejo el CUESTIONARIO que debéis responder sobre las presentaciones de enfermedades del sistema endocrino y nervioso incluido el vídeo de la diabetes que os colgué. Es tipo test y respuestas cortas, solo tenéis que darle a enviar al final del cuestionario y yo recibiré vuestras respuestas y calificaciones. También veréis vuestra calificación al terminar. OJO en las respuestas cortas escribid bien y sin faltas, si no no lo cuenta.
Debéis contestarlo antes del jueves día 2, os dejo un día más de margen por si acaso veis esto tarde (es decir fecha tope el viernes 3)

SOLUTIONS SPINAL CORD AND NEW TASKS

Last week before Easter! READ CAREFULLY TILL THE END OF THE POST.

Firstly, I couldn't finish reading all your emails this week, but I will do it as soon as possible, be patient.

Secondly, here you have the solutions for you to correct the worksheet about the spinal cord. Please, if you don't understand something write a comment at hte end of this post, not through email. You don't need to deliver the worksheet corrected, but you must do it if you want to learn...
 SOLUTIONS SPINAL CORD WORKSHEET

The task for this week is reading and studying the presentations some of your classmates have done about different diseases of the endocrine and nervous system. ON TUESDAY I will upolad some questions you will have to answer through a Google form. You will obtain your mark directly,  I will recieve it without you send me an email and I will be able to see all your answers. But I insist,  check the blog ON TUESDAY. Dead line to answer the questions: THURSDAY THE 2ND OF APRIL.

No one did the presentation about my favourite disease, DIABETES! I think I told someone to do it but I don't remember who... If you remember, could you send the presentation to may email, please? Finally, what about doing an on line class after Easter? ON WEDNESDAY THE 15TH OF APRIL, to review the whole unit and for you to ask doubts. We would do it by ZOOM and I would upload some days before the instructions about how to connect.

We will do an EXAM about this unit, probably with the same method (google form).  I will tell you when...

SOLUTIONS WORKSHEET BRAIN AND NEW TASKS

Tasks for this week:
1) Compare your answers and complete or correct them with the following key:

2) Complete this Worksheet about the Spinal chord.
Remember you have to DOWNLOAD the file in your computer, not asking for permission to edit. Then complete it and save it with your name and class. Or print it, complete it and send a picture.

3) ONLY FO THOSE WHO WERE GOING TO PRESENT IN CLASS A PROJECT ABOUT A DISEASE OF NERVOUS OR ENDOCRINE SYSTEM: You need to deliver it to me to this email: mcmoronmontiel@gmail.com.

If you use drive you could share it with me with the option of edit so I can correct any  mistakes in your presentation or complete information. Then I will upload it to the blog for sharing with your classmates and for all of you to study it. Be concise. Remember the parts:

- introduction (what is the disease about)
- causes
- symptoms
- treatment
- Prevention (if there is any way to prevent)
- bibliography (books or web pages, 3 at least)

One slide per section (or 2 per  if you use big pictures).

The contents about diseases in this unit don't appear in unit 5 but they will be part of the exam. When and how would we do the exam ? Who knows... But we will do something...

Homework for Wednesday, the 18th and PODCAST CORONAVIRUS

ACLARACIÓN SOBRE ESTA TAREA:
No tenéis que solicitar acceso para editar el archivo. Al estar en Drive, si pedís acceso para editar cambiaríais el archivo que yo tengo guardado, además me llevaría mucho tiempo dar acceso a cada uno de los 75 alumnos de 3º que tengo. Tenéis que darle a la flechita de DOWNOLAD, responder la ficha en vuestro ordenador y luego guardarla con vuestro nombre y curso para enviarla a mi mail. La otra opción es imprimirla, escribirla a mano y luego mandar foto. O simplemente poner el número de la pregunta a mano y la respuesta, y luego mandar foto. No caigáis en el error de copiaros las actividades unos a otros, como se hizo en alguna práctica de laboratorio... No merece la pena y además terminamos dándonos cuenta, y al final eso baja nota.

Por último, por favor, dudas sobre cómo entregar actividades , problemas en descargas etc., ponedlos como comentarios abajo en el blog. Lo podéis hace de forma anónima y yo contesto ahí para que lo vean todos. Cuidaos mucho y ánimo con estos días en casa.


Read pages 94 and 95 in the text book and complete the worksheet about "The brain and its functions". For those who haven't got the photocpy in paper,  download it here.

The file is a word document, so you can write on it directly and save the file with the title " Brain. your name and class". If you have the photocopy, just write on it and take a picture to send it as an image to my email.

PS: Para alumnos y familias: Si tenéis tiempo este fin de semana evitad ir a los centros comerciales o a sitios concurridos. Y en vez de ver la tele o jugar a videojuegos todo el rato os sugiero que escuchéis este podcast sobre especial sobre el CORONAVIRUS. Es solo media hora, pero si no tenéis tiempo (cosa difícil) escuchad a partir del minuto 17, donde habla de ESTRATEGIAS DE PROTECCIÓN INDIVIDUAL y FORMAS DE FORTALECER EL SISTEMA INMUNE.

CLARIFICATION ABOUT HOMUNUCULUS

For those who were in Germany, you don't need to know many things about what is an homunculus to do the lab pracatice, because you just have to follow the instructions in Spanish, and I didn't expalin very much in class about it. Some students have told Verónica they don't know how to do this activity but I don't know what is exactly the doubt. Please, you can ask any doubt about the proposed activities writing a comentary below the post of the blog, so if many of you have the same doubt I can answer just once. 

If the doubt is how to make the card, you just have to cut the  in the link named " download the shape of the card here", then, you have to glue that piece of paper on a plastic card (old DNI, for example) or the cover if an old notebook or the last year agenda, something harder than a cardboard, something made up with plastic, and finally, cut the shape to obtain the different pointed triangles that you will use for producing the sensations.

Moreover, you can see this video  that explains what an homunculus is. I hope you understand it better now.

Remember to deliver the tasks mentioned in the previous post before next Wednesday.

Classes have been canceled, but you still have to do this activity. You can do this practical activity at home with the help of your parents, or your brother/sister. And you need to deliver THE TABLE COMPLETE WITH DATA AND  ALL ACTIVITIES in the worksheet EXCEPT question A).

HOW TO REVIEW FOR THE RETAKE EXAM

Just for you to find it easily, here you have  again the 2 jeopardy games you need to review before the retake exam. Remember you need to:
1st: study with your notes, photocopies and text book.
2nd: copy just the questions of one of the jeopardy game without looking at the answers
3rd: Answer the questions on you own.
4rd: Check the answer with your presentation and  correct and complete the answers with RED PEN.
5th: Deliver the questions to your teacher the day of the exam.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR BRAIN. RADIO PROGRAM

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite radio programs in Spanish: "Radio fitness revolucionario". I usually listen toBut I am going to share with you the website, where you can also get access to all podcasts. This one is about Plasticidad cerebral. Cómo mejorar tu cerebro.  Click on the link and you will listen an interview to Jose Luis Trejo, Doctor in Biology, and director of "Grupo de Neurogénesis del Individuo Adulto" in  "Instituto Cajal" of  CSIC, in Madrid.

We will listen to part of the interview. Then, answer the questions in English. I strongly recommend you to finish listening this interview at home. I hope you like it.
